Gus is a Chartered Geotechnical & Structural Engineer with over 19 years of experience in civil engineering and construction. He specialises in the design, assessment, and management of building and infrastructure projects, bringing proven expertise in structural reviews, asset management, feasibility studies, construction management, procurement, and stakeholder liaison. His background spans bridge engineering, ground structures, water and wastewater infrastructure, structural demolition, structural monitoring, and sustainable concrete technology.

Over the course of his career, Gus has contributed to notable projects including the new Sydney Fish Market, the NSW State Library, the NSW Country Regional Rail Network (CRN), the Warringah Freeway Upgrade, the NSW Northern Rivers Flood Recovery Programme, and many others.

Gus is the Founder and Managing Director of Paragon, leading and serving a team driven by integrity, collaboration, and innovation. The Paragon team is passionate about solving complex engineering problems, and Gus is committed to fostering a culture of curiosity, accountability, and respect—values that define Paragon and reflect his leadership.

Ken has been involved in the road and bridge construction
and maintenance industry since 1981 and has been instrumental in
the development of a number of new to Australia processes. For many years Ken worked in the bridge construction and maintenance industry as part of the Freyssinet organisation.

He has been involved with rectification and construction works to many bridges including Kings Ave, Commonwealth Ave, Lake Ginninderra Bridges, Cahill Expressway and Brisbane Inner City Bypass bridges as well as tunnels on the M5 East and Clem 7 Motorways. In addition, he has been involved with pavement rehabilitation on projects such as the M2, M4 and M5 Motorways in Sydney and the Pacific Highway at Ulmarra.

Ali is an experienced project delivery leader with over 15 years delivering large, multi-disciplinary rail and infrastructure projects across Australia and the UK. He specialises in program and project delivery, technical advisory, and engineering design management.

Prior to joining Paragon, Ali was Technical Director at Mott MacDonald and spent over 12 years at Arcadis across Sydney and London, delivering major programs including Sydney Metro West, Sydney Metro City & Southwest, and London’s Crossrail and Underground networks.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from the University of Nottingham and a Master’s in Construction Management from Nottingham Trent University, and is a Certified Practising Project Director with the AIPM. As Program Delivery Manager at Paragon, Ali strengthens delivery governance and coordination across the business.

Omar has over 12 years of experience in Bridge and Structural Engineering, Omar worked on large infrastructure projects, mining structures, train stations infrastructure and heavy industrial structures in Australia and the US.

Highly Skilled in Structural Dynamics & Wind Engineering, Reinforced & Prestressed Concrete and Steel Design, Soil/Structure interaction. A strong engineering professional with a Bachelor, Masters & PhD of Civil and Structural Engineering.

Hooman is a highly experienced Geotechnical Engineer with over 11 years of experience and an impressive track record in various aspects of geotechnical engineering. His expertise covers a wide range of areas including rock and soil mechanics, slopes stability, earth and rockfill dams, tunnels, caverns, deep excavations, mining, and instrumentation. His proficiency also extends to Soil/Structure interaction and Finite Element Modelling, showcasing his strong analytical skills. Hooman holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Civil and Geotechnical Engineering. Notably, he has numerous scientific publications in the geotechnical engineering field, highlighting his commitment to advancing the industry through research and innovation.

Shivani Patil is an accomplished Structural Engineer with a proven track record of excellence. Her extensive experience includes performing both preliminary and detailed structural analysis and design for a wide range of structures, with a special focus on bridges, buildings, and pumping stations. Shivani’s expertise extends to preparing detailed technical reports that contribute to informed decision-making.

With a rich background, Shivani has contributed significantly to milestone projects in New South Wales, including the prestigious New Sydney Fish Market, the NSW State Library, and various bridges throughout the state. Through her work, Shivani consistently ensures that engineering solutions align with industry standards and client expectations.
